EVI KALLI

FASHION BA (HONS)

Menswear designer Evi Kalli is heavily influenced by her home country of Cyprus, with her designs being bold, bright, full of colour and incorporating fur and embellishments. Her parents are both artists, with her childhood full of visits to exhibitions and galleries.

Evi’s final year collection has been inspired by the 90’s hip-hop culture and the Egungun Masquerades - an annual or biennial masquerade festival held by Yoruba-speaking people in Nigeria, featuring masked and costumed performers. Oversized silhouettes, eclectic colours and vibrant details feature heavily, with the garments mixing together both cultures. A bull head sculpture, worn as a headpiece, will close her collection, created by her father, artist Kyriakos Kallis.

She has completed three placements while at University; KTZ in London, Ada + Nik, and Natargeoriou in Cyprus.
