Stephen Donnelly is Head of the Finance Subject Group for Newcastle Business School. The Finance Subject Group provides a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Accounting, Economics and Finance.
Stephen has been teaching Accountancy and Finance for over 20 years. Before joining Newcastle Business School in 2015 Stephen worked for BPP (Professional Education), the first private for profit university in the UK. Stephen taught courses for all the large professional bodies in the UK, particularly ICAEW, ACCA, CIMA and ICAS, frequently lead CPD training sessions for qualified members of these bodies.
Stephen's research interest combines his experience of accounting with his love for teaching as he focuses on the training of professional accountants, in particular he focuses on the difficulties of skills acquisiton compared to the knowledge acquition.
