Each month, we will be compiling a selection of events for you here, so that you can keep track of things happening both on and off campus. From events in student accommodation and society socials to Northumbria University Sport fixtures and pop-up events on campus, we've got you covered!

February 2025 - Whats On

Tynemouth Market

Date/Time: 2nd of February at 11am

Location: Meet at Northumbria City Campus Students Union Welcome Desk. 

Explore the beautiful seaside town of Tynemouth, which is only a 15-minute ride on the metro from the city centre where we'll be exploring the market.

This is a free event; however you need to book a ticket here. Also please note you will need to purchase your own metro ticket and any food.

 

Budgeting Breakfast

Date/Time: 7th of February at 9am

Location: Northumbria City Campus Students Union, Training Room 1 and 2 

Come along to one of our budgeting breakfasts where we will teach you about budgeting you money and other financial management lessons while you enjoy a free continental style breakfast. 

Once a month we will be covering themes such as cost of living, fraud and scam prevention, how to keep your costs low, wellbeing on a budget and general budgeting advice. 

We will also provide breakfast and hot drinks for you to start your day right. Find out more here

 

Gong Bath 

Date/Time: 3rd of February at 7pm 

Location: Venue Space, Cobalt Studios, 10-16 Boyd Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE2 1AP

We invite you to an affordable gong bath with Tracey West.

Gong bathing provides you with an immersive sonic massage and a cellular cleanse for your mind, body and soul. You will be invited to lay down and rest in stillness, stretch or move while experiencing cascading layers of sound that are filtered through from the highest source. Ripples of Sound induce a meditative state and provide the opportunity for you to just be, it’s a really special experience. Tickets range from £9-£13.

Super Bowl Sunday

Date/Time: 9th of February at 10pm 

Location: Habita Northumbria City Campus 

Come join us at Habita for a late night watch party of NFL Super Bowl LIX on the big screen! Book a ticket now for only £3 and get a free drink* on entry (*Exact drinks tbc).

Galentines Sober Paint Night

Date/Time: 14th February at 5:30pm

Location: Olive Kitchen Newcastle 

Grab your besties and get ready for an evening of laughter, art, and sips as you create your own masterpiece. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a first-time painter, you can let your creativity run wild through a fun and relaxing painting session. Food, drinks and cakes will be available to purchase at the event. ⁣

This event is all about celebrating the bond between friends and making memories while you unleash your inner artist.⁣

What to Expect:⁣

- Canvas and all other painting supplies included⁣
- A fun, supportive environment for all skill levels⁣
- A welcome drink to keep the creativity flowing⁣
- Take-home art that’ll remind you of your fabulous day⁣

Swiftogeddon - The Taylor themed club night

Date/Time: 22nd of February at 9pm

Location: The Boiler Shop

Do you have a Blank Space in your diary? Then this night is Taylor-made for you! Join fellow fans in a celebration of the genius of the Swift - because she'll never go out of Style.

London Based Events 

London Fashion Week

Date/Time: 20th - 24th of February 

Location: London

With 2024 marking 40 years of LFW, the year will celebrate London’s position as a world leading cultural capital and its creative community. LFW40 will spotlight London’s creative community and the city as a global, cultural hub as well as its role in nurturing emerging talent and the next generation of visionary creatives.

You mightn't be able to attend events without an invite but can soak up the atmosphere that London Fashion Week brings to the city.

BFI Future Film Festival

Date/Time: 20th of February - 6th March

Location: Southbank, London 

The festival is for aspiring filmmakers aged 16 to 25 who want to progress in their careers and learn from people already working in the screen industries.

We aim to connect young people interested in working in the screen industries with leading experts and practitioners, as well as give opportunities to meet fellow young creatives, find collaborators and build their networks.
