What will I learn during the Interior Design BA (Hons) degree course?
The subject will be explored via investigations into existing site and architecture, function, materials, brand, tactility, space, form and user occupancy, experience and interaction. Design skills are developed in both hand techniques and digital methods including:
- Technical drawings
- Sketching
- 3D visualisation
- Model-making
- Material experimentation
This design studio-based course will encourage you to acquire a flexible and imaginative approach to problem solving through enquiry-based learning.
What skills will I gain throughout this course?
As well as design practice you will develop your academic writing skills across the programme. Cultural, critical, and professional practice studies will provide a social, historical and professional context to the subject discipline, developing your knowledge and insight into your own personal practice.
Working individually and in studio groups, you will learn to be flexible and collaborative as part of a design team, to identify and redefine problems in a creative way, and focus on solutions that are both relevant and considerate.
