Kefah Barham

Kefah Barham is a Palestinian educator, joined Northumbria in June 2018 as a Rutherford Research Fellow in Citizenship and Education in Palestinian context. Kefah received her doctorate from Center for International Education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, USA before becoming an academic  member in the Faculty of Educational Sciences and Teacher Training at An-Najah National University, Palestine. In addition to her teaching, Kefah worked in several educational development projects relate to teacher education and teacher training.

Kefah’s research interest is focused around Palestinian Education, her  current research interest focuses on citizenship and the role of education in formal and non-formal settings on citizenship values. She is also working on exploring the relationship of the values that are introduced in Religious, Civic and Social Education textbooks. Prior to that, she worked on topics relate to teaching pedagogy and technology integration in the classroom.
