Northumbria University, in collaboration with Newcastle, Sunderland, York, and Teesside Universities, is proud to announce the launch of the Northern Interprofessional Education (IPE) Strategy 2025-2030 on Thursday 19th March, 9:30-11:30am in the Great Hall, Sutherland Building, City Campus.
This pioneering regional strategy represents a significant milestone in our collective commitment to excellence in health and social care education across the North of England. Co-created through extensive consultation with practice partners, students, academics, and experts by lived experience across all five universities, the strategy establishes a Northern IPE Community of Practice aimed at leading innovation in collaborative learning nationally and internationally. Through five strategic pillars—cross-regional collaboration, leadership and governance, faculty development, research, and quality assurance—we will transform how health and social care students learn with, from, and about each other, preparing them for the realities of modern, team-based practice and ultimately improving care for the communities we serve.
The launch event will feature presentations from IPE leads across all five universities outlining the strategy and its implications for regional health and social care education. We are delighted that Professor Susanne Lindqvist, Chair of the Centre for Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE), will be speaking at the event. Coffee and pastries will be served, providing an excellent opportunity to network with colleagues interested in interprofessional education from across the region.
Further details will be available shortly, if you have any questions please contact the organiser at claire.leader@northumbria.ac.uk
