Thousands Expected at Northumbria's Open Day

26th June 2014

Northumbria University, Newcastle is preparing to welcome over 5,500 visitors to its summer Open Days this weekend.

The University will open its doors to showcase the world-class teaching expertise and facilities that have helped it to earn its status as 21st in the UK for best student experience, according to the Times Higher Education’s annual student experience survey.

During the Open Days, which are held on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 June, visitors will be given the opportunity to explore the campus and get a taste for life at Northumbria.

Academic staff and current students will be on hand to talk about their subjects and offer advice and guidance to potential applicants.

Visitors will also be able to tour the 24/7 library which has been voted third best in the UK, the award-winning Students’ Union and world-class sports facilities at Sport Central.

Accommodation tours will also take place throughout the day. A show-flat of the brand new Trinity Square residences will be available to view. The new accommodation, based in the heart of Gateshead, will open its doors to almost 1,000 students for the first time in September.

The Open Days run from 9am – 3pm. To view a full programme of activities and events for the day, as well as booking a place, visit www.northumbria.ac.uk/openday
