BA Final Year – Phase 2 Internship (Final Assessed Placement)
*Please note that by committing to host students for this placement, you are committing to host them for both Phase 1 Internship (Nov 2022) and Phase 2 Internship (March - June 2023)*
Dates: 27th March - 16th June 2023; excluding Easter and May half term school closures
Placement Setting: EYFS, KS1 or KS2
Amount Payable to School: £1300 per pair of students

If you are unable to support the internship in full, but would still like to be considered as a final-placement venue, we would like to hear from you as there will be opportunities to support our final PGCE and PGCE EP placements.
PGCE – Final Placement
Dates: 27th March - 23rd June 2023; excluding Easter and May half term school closures
Placement Setting: KS1 or KS2
Amount Payable to School: £1000 per pair of students
This is a ten-week block placement including one preparation week and nine assessed weeks. Students will be paired unless the host school has specifically requested an individual placement. If paired, students will work in a ‘job share’ capacity to cover all aspects of teaching and learning over the course of the placement. The placement will enable students to embed critical depth into their practice and understanding and will be their final placement prior to their ECT years.
During
the placement, students are assessed each week through a Weekly Review of Progress meeting held with their school-based mentor (this could be the class teacher or school mentor) to review their progress and to
agree on two SMART targets. Each student is also
allocated a link tutor from the university who will join a weekly review
meeting at the school, which may include a
lesson observation and feedback with the teacher/mentor.
Schools are required to submit an end of placement report, as well as brief phonics and maths reports
PGCE EP – Final Placement
Dates: 27th March - 23rd June 2023; excluding Easter and May half term school closures
Placement Setting: EYFS or KS1
Amount Payable to School: £1000 per pair of students
This is a ten-week block placement including one preparation week, eight assessed weeks and a final week which can be used for consolidation or to allow students additional opportunities across the school; students may be paired throughout. The experience will be focused around assessment and pupil progress to enable students to embed critical depth into their practice and understanding. If paired, students will work in a ‘job share’ capacity to cover all aspects of teaching and learning over the course of the placement. The placement will enable students to embed critical depth into their practice and understanding and will be their final placement prior to their ECT year.
During the placement, students are observed once each week and a weekly meeting is held with their school-based mentor (this could be the class teacher or school mentor) to review their progress and set agreed targets against the standards. Each student is allocated a link tutor from the university who visits the school placement on three separate occasions (two of which are to carry out a joint lesson observation with the students’ school based mentor).
