Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?
My Accountancy A-Level teacher spoke highly of Northumbria and the Business School was rated highly in the rankings. Additionally, the course is excellent in terms of preparing you for real life prospects and the amount of accreditation's you receive is in the top ten in the country.
What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?
Newcastle is such an amazing place to be a student and there is always things suited to you, no matter what you like. There are so many places to visit for nightlife and it is surprisingly cheap! I often visit the International Food Festival at the Quayside at weekends or participate in sporting activities such as badminton tournaments.
What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?
The people are so friendly and talkative.
Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?
It was so easy, due to all the opportunities there are to meet people through societies, sport, welcome week or making friends on your course.
What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?
The welcome week, so much stuff going on and seeing big names such as Labyrinth and Ella Eyre!
Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?
My friends! I have made some life long friends both on my course and outside of the course.
Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?
One of my lecturers who talks passionately about the career prospects and the opportunities in the business world.
What is your favourite place on campus?
Sport Central. The facility is fantastic with access to so many sports and teams. No matter what level you play at, there will always be an activity that you can get involved in.
Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?
I joined the social tennis club where we played once a week and recieved professional coaching, I play develop badminton twice a week and did a six week course in Fencing from the regional champion.
What is the best thing about your course?
I find the modules I take really interesting and are really specific to my career.
What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?
Being independent and organised is a key part of succeeding at University.
What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?
Become an Accountant or work within the Business Finance.
Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?
Not currently but definitely will when the opportunity is presented.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?
I feel I'm more ready for the world of work. I would definitely consider Northumbria as a successful University that has great facilities, a well designed course and great social options.

I feel I'm more ready for the world of work.
