Social Work

Social-Work-BSc_Student_Mathapelo-LetsieWhat were the reasons for applying to Northumbria University?

I applied to Northumbria University as I was informed that it had a great reputation. It was also one of the few UK universities that offered the new Social Work degree.

What did you think of Coach Lane Campus?

Coach Lane is well situated and very accessible. It is a campus with friendly helpful staff. The IT facilities and the library are well equipped and the environment allows students to study and concentrate. It is a quiet and beautiful campus.

What was the best experience?

I thoroughly enjoyed my placements and my induction week in my first year. It was a creative and fun way of enabling me to know Newcastle and be aware of my immediate surroundings. That should be something that never stops, it was great fun.

What facilities did you use the most at Coach Lane Campus?

The library and the cafeteria. The food was really great.

Do you have any top tips for prospective students?

Apply on time and when you get to the third year hand in all your work on time and always know that the staff are there to support you when and how they can. They do not bite – they are a fantastic team committed to ensuring that you are successful in obtaining your degree.

Any other comments?

I have had a fantastic time while at Coach Lane and have made some great friends too.
