Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

The university has very generous bursaries and scholarships which help me with the struggle of being a single mother and has a amazing nursery if I ever choose to relocate to newcastle.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love Newcastle it the most friendly city I have ever had the pleasure of spending time in.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

I love how everything is close, I've rarely felt the need to use any other transport then my legs, but when I do public transport is easy to navigate and cheap.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes everyone was very friendly even though i chose not to live on campus, I still made friends quickly.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting new people.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

The professors I'm learning from, I would now love to be a researcher/lecturer!

What is your favourite place on campus?

Habita - it's so warm, friendly and casual.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I've become a student representative, I love helping people and listening and trying to make a difference.

What is the best thing about your course?

The material.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

Money, keys, phone and a way to get HOME!

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I would like to be a lecturer and researcher, the main skill I'm learning through this course that will help me with this, as it is my achilles heel, is public speaking.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

You will not regret making Northumbria your firm choice!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

Definitely grown in confidence.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Enlightening, eventful and random!
