Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

All my siblings came here so I knew it was a good university.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I think it's an amazing city, with a great nightlife and culture. I love the Quayside. 

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The culture and how friendly people are.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, I think its a great place to study.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

I enjoy the learning, I think it has a great library and good lecturers. I love the campus.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My GT, he has given me great support through some tough times with my family. Also my friends who have suported me throughout.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Lecturers, I think their love of nursing is inspiring.

What is your favourite place on campus?

I love the SU, its a great facility. It's laid back but also offers an environment to study.

What is the best thing about your course?

I love learning new things about nursing, I also love the knowledge I am gaining throughout placment.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

To be true to myself and to care for people the way I would want my family to be cared for.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

My communications skills have improved. My knowledge of nursing as whole. I would love to be a practice nurse or Health Visitor.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I have been on placement on a surgical ward, with a HV and also in mental health. The care provided to patients has inspired me to be my best and improve my knowledge to provide the best care.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Yes, It will change you as a person, for the better.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I am more aware of who I am using self reflection and the importance of nursing and impact we can have on peoples lives.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Great. Fun. Interesting.

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?
