This 2 day course covers an introduction to wound care management, with day 1 covering basic techniques and day 2 covering advanced techniques.

Day 1 will include;

  • Introduction to wound care management
  • aseptic techniques

  • infection control and prevention within the primary care setting

  • examine skin and wound aetiology

  • identify red flags

  • advice on dressings that are appropriate

  • when to refer for specialist tissue viability opinion

Day 2;

  • builds on the basics from Day 1

  • ABPI measurements

  • management options for more complex wounds and leg ulcers
