  • This is a rise of 8 places compared to 2014
  • 90% of our research outputs are rated as internationally excellent (3*) and world-leading (4*)
  • 78% of our research impact is rated very considerable (3*) or outstanding (4*) 

Engineering is researching and developing innovative technologies that underpin many aspects of our day-to-day lives such as how we generate energy, how we communicate in a digital age, and how our buildings can be made and maintained more sustainably. The Unit works closely with partners in industry across different sectors to bring about new, optimised technologies and materials to improve manufacturing processes and help define the route towards a greener future.
