Tanzania

The university has a long history of accepting students from Tanzania on to a range of courses.

Students who join Northumbria University will enjoy teaching that is both research informed and practice led, with strong links to industry and professional bodies. Although some courses have specific requirements for entry, Northumbria will consider any qualification for entry to its courses.

A Levels / International Baccalaureate May be considered if requirements for target course are not met. Applications will be assessed on a case by case basis.

Postgraduate Bachelor Degree 50-59% or B for courses that require a 2.2

Please note these are general entry guidelines. Actual requirements may vary depending on your chosen course of study and certain courses may have specific or additional entry requirements, full details can be found on our course directory. Decisions for entry will also be based on personal statements, previous study information and not just your final course grading.

From September 2018, students from Tanzania who do not meet the requirements for an Academic Scholarship will receive an automatic Country Bursary of £1000 for their first year of study at Northumbria.

Please note there are a number of restrictions:

  • If you receive any discount on the full published overseas tuition fee (with the exception of Alumni Discount and/or Early Payment Discount) you will not be eligible for a Country Bursary.
  • You cannot be in receipt of both an Academic Scholarship AND a Country Bursary.
  • The Bursary is only available to students who are new to Northumbria. Northumbria alumni who return to take another degree programme would not be eligible for a second country bursary, however, they would qualify for the alumni discount.
