Turnitin compares your submitted text to other texts in its database of books, web pages, articles and submitted assignments. You can use Turnitin to ensure accidental plagiarism does not occur. It can also help you develop your referencing skills and techniques.

How do I access Turnitin?

Turnitin Assignments are built into Blackboard, Northumbria University’s virtual learning environment. This makes it easy to use, and it means that there’s no need to install any extra software on your device. Turnitin can be accessed by logging into Blackboard and then opening the assignment from within your module.

How do I use Turnitin?

Turnitin assignments are designed to be easy to use. After locating the required assignment, simply select the title to open the submission point to upload your work. You can also download a digital receipt to confirm that you have submitted your work.

Once available, you can see your marks and feedback in the Gradebook section of the Blackboard module.
