NU Connect: The Northumbria App

 

What is NU Connect?

NU Connect is the free mobile app for Northumbria University students. It is the quickest and easiest way for you to find out about where to go on campus and how to access the services you need during your studies.

The NU Connect mobile app is the simplest way for you to keep track of your University life. It puts all the essential information that you will need at your fingertips.

When will I use NU Connect?

You will use NU Connect throughout your time as a student at Northumbria University. NU Connect enables you to find information on every aspect of the University that you will need as part of student life.

Features of the NU Connect app include:

  • Essential Info – key information to help you get started at Northumbria University, such as a checklist of actions to complete when you arrive, how to connect to WiFi and more.
  • Travel – get details of travel routes to the campus, check parking spaces for cars and bikes and find out when the free bus service runs.
  • Finder – locate computers and software for you to use on campus, find launderettes and food shops, get contact details for tutors, and take online tours of University accommodation.
  • Maps – get online maps of the University campus, and use location services on your device to check how long it will take you to get to different places on campus.
  • My Learning - find your timetable, check when exams take place, and update your attendance.

NU Connect will keep you in touch and up to date with the services you need to get the most from your studies here at Northumbria University.

How do I access NU Connect?

NU Connect is free and runs on Apple and Android devices. 

To download and install NU Connect, visit either the App Store or the Play Store and search for NU Connect. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the app on your device.

Once the app is installed, open it and press the Login button in the top right area. You should log in using your Northumbria University IT account details as follows:

University username – your Northumbria username, for example: w21012345.

Password – your Northumbria IT account password, which you will also use to log in to other services such as the Student Portal and Blackboard.

Please do not click the Sign-in Options button or use the "Can't access your account?" link. If you do have any issues logging in, please simply contact the IT Service Desk via the Self Service IT Portal.

These details only need to be entered once, unless you uninstall the app or press the Logout button.

How do I use NU Connect?

NU Connect is designed to be easy to use. Select the information you need from the on-screen menus to find out what you need to know.

The NU Connect app is set to stay logged in. This means that the app has constant access to your Northumbria University account and details.

Always remember to protect your device to prevent anyone else accessing your information. Keep the device locked when not in use to keep it safe.
