Dr Meera Soundararajan

Assistant Professor

Department: Applied Sciences

Dr Meera Soundararajan is a Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Sciences who joined Northumbria University in 2011.

Meera’s work during her PhD involved elucidating the mechanism of DNA interacting and modifying enzymes.  Her initial post-doctoral work was directed towards understanding the transcriptional regulation in Acute Myeloid Leukemia through characterising macromolecular assemblages on the promoter. She continued to work as a postdoctoral fellow at Oxford which involved structural and functional characterisation of signalling molecules belonging to receptor mediated and Phosphorylation dependent signalling pathways that directly involved pathogenesis of cancer and development of neurological disorders.
