Dr Dimitra Skoumpopoulou

Dimitra worked as a business consultant both in the UK and abroad and she has wide-ranging experience in the implementation and use of information systems especially in SMEs in the retail, sales and service sectors.

Prior to joining NBS she had over 15 years’ experience in running her own business as a consultant and she is well aware of the challenges that SMEs face in today’s competitive environment. She was offering training, support and consultancy to organisations in the UK, Greece and Germany and was helping businesses to introduce, develop and use Information Systems (IS) across their departments. This enabled her to gain an extensive experience in working with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.

Her research is focused in the area of information systems and approaches to information systems implementation. She has a particular interest in the human aspect of IS implementation since IS often fail not because of technological drawbacks but because end users either do not accept IS or do not know how to use them. In particular she has published in many leading journals and her research interests are information systems implementation and management, project management, knowledge management, talent management and organisational culture.
