Dr Daniel Peart

Associate Professor

Department: Sport, Exercise and Rehabilitation

Dan started teaching at Teesside University before taking a graduate teaching assistant position at the University of Hull whilst studying for his PhD titled ‘The Leukocyte Expressed Heat Shock Protein Response to Exercise Following the Induction of a Pre-Exercise Alkalosis’. He subsequently contributed to a Higher Education foundation course in Biomedical Science at Sunderland College before becoming Programme Leader for Bioscience and Biochemistry at the University Centre in Scunthorpe.

Dan's main teaching and research interests are in the areas of nutrition and physiology for health and performance. He also has an interest in Higher Education pedagogy having previously led a project that implemented mobile technologies into the teaching and learning of Biosciences. His most recent work in this area looks at the role of drawing and animations to support student learning.
