Tamsin Nelson

Department: Northumbria Law School

Tamsin joined Northumbria Law School in September 2003 as a Senior Lecturer. She graduated from Lancaster University in 1998 and completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law in 1999. Tamsin then returned to the North East to complete her training contract in private practice in 2001 and continued as a solicitor in private practice until joining the law school.

Tamsin is currently pursuing a DLaw at Northumbria University exploring the use of problem based and experiential learning with a particular focus on standardised clients as a teaching, learning and assessment tool for assessing lawyers interviewing skills.

Tamsin is module tutor on the civil litigation and professional conduct modules on the Legal Practice Course. She teaches on the Student Law Office and inquests modules on the undergraduate exempting degree programme. Tamsin is also currently the Programme Leader for the undergraduate programmes Law with Business and Law with International Business.
