EE Kellymckinnon Staffprofile 255 Kelly graduated from the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art where she undertook the BArch (Hons) Architecture programme. Kelly then went on to complete the Post Graduate Diploma in Architecture at Strathclyde University becoming a Chartered Architect in 2004.

Kelly joined the School of the Built Environment in August 2007 as a Senior Lecturer in Architecture. Prior to teaching at Northumbria University, she taught part time in studio at Strathclyde University, whilst also working in practice. She also acted as a visiting tutor at both the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow School of Art, the Interior Design Department at James Watt College and the Housing degree at Glasgow University. Kelly has also been a visiting Artist at Inspiration at The Lighthouse, “A festival of the arts for Children and Young People in Glasgow” developing projects with the aim of engaging children with Architecture and Design.

Kelly worked for 4 years in Practice for Anderson Bell & Christie Architects in Glasgow. The Practice worked on a range of projects with various clients from housing association work through to voluntary groups, community groups and health trusts.

Kelly has a keen interest in art and regularly paints and draws whenever she gets the chance and attend and supports local and regional art shows. Originally from the Highlands of Scotland, she travels north as much as I can to visit family and friends.
