Dr Mahdi Erfanian Nakhchi Toosi


Department: Mechanical and Construction Engineering

Dr Mahdi Erfanian Nakhchi joined the Mechanical Engineering Department at Northumbria University in 2020. 

Dr Erfanian is doing research on renewable energy systems and wind farm design. He was a postdoc on an EPSRC project, "Numerical Investigation of Aero-elasticity in Modern Low-Pressure Turbines", for two years at Northumbria University before becoming a lecturer. He has published many papers in high-ranked journals like "Renewable Energy" and "Energy". 

His teaching activities are mainly focused on Fluid Mechanics and Energy Systems. Dr Erfanian is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education (AFHEA).
