Board Committees

In addition to the Board of Governors, the University is supported in its work by a number of Committees.  The Committees are remitted to consider and deal with specific business in more depth that would be possible or practicable at full Board meetings.  In many cases the Committees have delegated authority from the Board to make decisions in relation to specific areas of business.  However, there are also circumstances in which the Committees provide detailed scrutiny which may lead to an endorsement or recommendation for final Board approval.  As specified in the Instrument and Articles, or mapped in the Scheme of Delegated Authority, a number of decisions cannot be delegated by the Board, such as approval of the University Strategy or annual financial statements.  However, many decisions are and these are themed in the Scheme of Delegated Authority and detailed in the Terms of Reference of each Committee of the Board, which can be found on the page for each committee.

The following Committees of the Board have been established:

Further information on each of the Committees, including the rationale for its existence, terms of reference, membership and meeting dates are provided on separate pages of this website.

Further information is available on the University academic governance and committee structure, discharged through the Academic Board and its Committees and is available here on the Academic Registry website.
