I always love to challenge myself. Everyday, although I feel so blessed with what I have right now, I always push myself to add to my skill sets. I love my career as an Engineer. But deep in my heart, I know that I love doing business too.

What are you doing now?Amirah Stephen

I am full time Project and Sales Engineer. At the same time, I educate and create awareness about investments especially in gold savings. I also love reading and gaining knowledge.

What was it like studying at Northumbria? 

I love Northumbria University so much and can't believe I have now graduated after almost two years. Studying at Northumbria was incredible! All the lecturers are very professional and I made good friends all around the world to share my incredible experiences.

How connected was your course with industry?

I loved the Sustainability module, it not only applied in my industry but also in my everyday use!

What was the best thing about your course?

The fact that I can exchange ideas with my friends from other countries, cultures and races. I am so happy to be able to learn new and different things.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

Studying at Northumbria and living in Newcastle was an eye opener for me. That was my first ever experienced being away from my family. I was so independent and I can apply this to my working world. Nothing is impossible, you just need to believe in yourself.

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

To be brave, independent, and always ask when in doubt

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The beautiful University, environment, convenient, lecturers, friends and food - everything!

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

Go ahead and do it. 

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Adventure of lifetime!
