Nzomics Biocatalysis

Nzomics develops novel enzymes for clients in the pharmaceutical, chemical, biofuel and food sectors. Using an enzyme alternative for a chemical process is cost-effective, efficient and environmentally sound.

Our research and development focus is to develop novel intellectual property for our client using state-of-the-art chemistry, molecular biology and biotechnology.

Our approach to novelty and variety in industrial enzymes
With the advent of genome sequencing and the invention of molecular biology tools which enable the translation of primary amino acid sequence from a public database to pure expression in a cell factory in a matter of weeks, enzyme technology has come of age as a viable solution to many chemical problems. Compared with the obvious processing methods of using a biodegradable reagent free from precious or polluting metals, enzyme-based methods are often more selective with obvious benefits in terms of cost of processing and purification.

Additionally, companies which own the enzymes (rather than rely on a supplier) for their key processes have security of supply over what might be the key component in a vital manufacturing route.
