This document gives students on education and training programmes we approve information about our standards of conduct, performance, and ethics.
Code of Members’ Professional Values and behaviours.
The Code sets out the CSP's expectations of all members: qualified physiotherapists, associates, and students.
The CSP's Code of Members' Professional Values and Behaviour is centred around the needs of patients and clients. It sets out the high standards of behaviour required of you as a CSP member, following the Code forms part of your contract as a member of the CSP.
The Code also underlines your obligation to observe the relevant laws and regulatory requirements, as well as any rules set by your employer or educational institution.
It enables you to take responsibility for your decision-making and your actions, and to fulfil your duty of care to the people you serve.

CSP Physiotherapy Framework.
The CSP’s Physiotherapy Framework is a resource designed to promote & develop physiotherapy practice. The Physiotherapy Framework defines & describes the behaviours (& underpinning values), knowledge & skills required for contemporary physiotherapy practice:
- at all levels - from a new support worker through to a senior level registered physiotherapist;
- across a variety of occupational roles – clinical, educational, leadership, managerial, research, & support;
- in a variety of settings – in health & social care, in industry & workplaces, in education & development, & in research environments;
- across all 4 nations of the UK

Physiotherapy staff have a professional and legal obligation to keep an accurate record of their interaction with patients.
Principles of practice-based learning.
We want to make it easier for everyone involved in practice-based learning to come together and create placements that work for all.
The CSP has worked with the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT) to develop this set of seven principles. They can be applied by everyone involved in practice-based learning: students and apprentices; university representatives; practice educators; service leads; business owners and many more.
They offer an opportunity to connect, understand different perspectives and identify areas for joined up working.
