What other qualifications do you have?

I currently hold a BSc in History from Kansas State University in America.

Why did you choose this course?

It gave me the opportunity to expand on the education classes I took as part of my undergraduate programme. I felt that a Masters would be the next progressive step towards a career in education.

What appealed to you about Northumbria and studying in Newcastle?

I am very interested in sports and after competing on a golf team in America for four years, I wanted to study at a university that offered this opportunity
again. I chose Northumbria because it has a strong sports scholarship programme with outstanding sports facilities. Also the education faculty has a strong reputation and a good success rate. Northumbria was the stand-out choice for me.

Favourite thing about the University?

Meeting new people and getting involved in university life. I have been course rep for the Masters programme and it has given me the opportunity to interact and work with students from all over the world.

What did you like most about the course?

I have enjoyed working with the lecturers, they have been inspiring. Each module was taught in a way which engaged the students and allowed us to expand our own thoughts during the lectures.

What are you doing now?

Taking part in the Masters has given me options and raised my ambitions to further a career as an academic. I am thinking about completing my PhD at
Northumbria in the near future.

How did your undergraduate degree prepare you for your current post?

My undergraduate degree prepared me well for my Masters because I had a demanding schedule with golf and university work. My time management
skills have carried over to my current course and continued to develop, enabling me to meet deadlines.
