I really enjoyed studying chemistry at A level and wanted to take it further. Looking at the prospectus for the course at Northumbria, it appealed to me and Northumbria seemed a fun place to come.

What do you like about the course?

I like the fact you can pick option modules to suit you. I chose medicinal chemistry which I loved studying.

What are the facilities like?

The lab facilities are really good and the lab technicians are a great help. Also the lecturers are there to advise you if you’re stuck too.

How do you get on with your tutors?

Most of them are really friendly and approachable and everyone on my course is dead nice. I like how there is a mixture of ages of students too.

What would you like to do when you graduate?

Originally I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do but I have decided when I finish my degree I would like to study medicine.

Do you have any advice for anyone applying for your course, or for university in general?

Come to Northumbria as it’s a great university. Chemistry here is really good and the lecturers are a lot more relaxed here than at some other universities which makes the course more fun.
