Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I heard nothing but good reviews about Northumbria and especially the Business School. Also, it involved moving away from home but not too far.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love Newcastle - it's an amazing city to be in. I enjoy going down to the Quayside and especially visiting the Baltic. I love how friendly people are In the city and how brilliant it is for students.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

The student lifestyle really! And also the range of people you meet from all over the country and the world.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

Yes, very. The staff and the students have been brilliant.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

My opportunity to complete a year abroad.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My dissertation tutor, has been amazing through my final year.

What is your favourite place on campus?

I love studying at the Business School as it's such a fabulous new building.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I was a Course Rep In first year, and also I was last of the Dance Society.

What is the best thing about your course?

Definitely the chance of the year abroad.

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

The importance of time management! And the importance of understanding cultural differences in styles of working and learning.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I have been accepted on a primary school direct scheme. Communications and people skills, teamwork, leadership etc.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I spent third year in Lyon, France. I have too many amazing memories, especially from travelling to other places over Europe.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Come to this University! It offers so many great opportunities and you meet such amazing people. Just make the most or your time at university and make sure you balance work and play!

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have grown as a person definitely, being at University has really helped my confidence.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Exciting, rewarding, hard-work!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Definitely!
