What's your background?I did my Bachelor’s degree in IT at the American University in Dubai, and then worked back in Nigeria at the Corporate Affairs Commission. I worked in the IT department in networking.
The department encourages you to explore other areas of technology, like telecoms. For my dissertation topic I’m researching issues concerning the “last mile”, which is the quality of service which is actually delivered to the end user of a telecoms system.
I’ll go back to my job in Nigeria. I can see myself coming back to the UK to do a PhD in a couple of years. I’d consider Northumbria first because I’m familiar with the environment and the teachers, but I’ll explore other options too.
