Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

It had a great reputation and was close to home.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

Its home, I like to shop in Eldon Square and go to the beach in Northumberland.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

How friendly my neighbours are in a student area.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

It was very welcoming and very easy to make friends.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

The opportunity to make so many great friends.

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My supervisor and course tutors.

Have you joined any sports teams, clubs or been involved in any volunteer projects? Tells us about the highlights?

I was a volunteer for welcome week this year. It was great, I had an opportunity to do many great activities and have made even more great friends from other courses.

What is the best thing about your course?

Its size, it provides you with the chance to meet so many different people.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I want to be a nurse, I think being in such a large class of students has helped me improve my people skills and helped me to adapt who I am around different people.

Have you worked on any projects with businesses or been on a placement? What were your most memorable experiences?

I started a project at the SU, the SAVE project, it was great, on earth hour we had a choir and glow sticks, it was pictureseque.

Have you taken up any opportunities to travel with your current course/undertake field trips? If so, please tell us about them.

I did a ghost walk in parapsychology which was really interesting, we learned about the history of Newcastle and about possible hauntings. It was very fun and educational.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

When picking options, dont pick the ones that will benefit your carreer later on, choose the ones that most interest you, the ones you will thrive in.

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have matured, I feel more intelligent and I have many great friends. It has really been a positive for my social life and I have the confidence to apply for jobs. It has all around been very beneficial.
