EU and EEA students

The UK left the EU in January 2020, and the transition agreement ended in December 2020. Therefore, if you’re from the EU, EEA or Switzerland, you will now be subject to immigration control unless you have been granted settled or pre-settled status. If you are an Irish national this will not apply to you.

The EU settlement scheme closed on 30 June 2021. If you have not already applied for settled or pre-settled status via the scheme you will now no longer be able to do so. Once you have been given pre-settled status you will need to ensure that you apply for settled status if appropriate.

All EU, EAA and Swiss students arriving in the UK after 1st January 2021 must now apply for a student visa if they are studying on a course than is longer than 6 months.

Any student who requires a student visa will have this checked at the point of enrolment. Students are required to upload these documents as part of the online enrolment process. They will not be fully enrolled until the relevant documents (stamped transit visa and BRP) have been provided and checked by staff at the University.
