2017/18 Full-time Undergraduate Fees (Home)

2017/18 Entry Tuition Fees for Home (UK & EU) Applicants

The Government have announced that it will raise the cap for undergraduate fees in line with inflation, and therefore the tuition fee for the 2017 academic year will increase from £9,000 to £9,250 in line with forecast inflation.  This is assuming that the relevant regulations are passed by Parliament.  The fees for your first year of study will therefore be £9,250, or a lower amount as set by Parliament.

For both Home and EU undergraduate students, tuition fees are dependent on Government policy and may be subject to small increases in line with UK Government policy and approvals.  You should expect to pay tuition fees for every year in attendance and be aware these fees may increase annually.  On the basis of current Government guidance any increase is unlikely to exceed the increase in inflation by reference to the Retail Price Index (RPI).

Student fee loans are also expected to rise in line with the fee cap.

EU students starting a Northumbria University degree programme in 2017/18 academic year will be charged the same tuition fees as UK students for the duration of their studies at the University.

To help you manage your finances, there is a range of support packages available in the form of bursaries and scholarships

If you are studying on a course that carries a tuition fee and you take a sandwich/placement year you may be charged up to £1,800.

Some of our undergraduate degrees incur additional costs which are not covered by your tuition fee.  You can find out more here

If you are a part-time undergraduate student, you can find out more information about your tuition fees and loan opportunities here.
