  • This is a rise of 54 places compared with 2014
  • 81% of our research outputs are rated as internationally excellent (3*) and world-leading (4*)

Ranked in the top 400 worldwide in computer science and the top 20 in the UK for citations, the mission of Computer Science and Informatics is to produce high-quality, collaborative research that provides innovative, digital solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.  

The Unit has seen exciting growth in the last few years, with its research impacting at a regional, national and international level. Significant infrastructure development, in combination with a thriving research culture, and a dedicated focus on staff development is helping to propel the Unit’s work shaping our digital future.
