The Soccer Development Programme

Develop your soccer skills with i2i's soccer development programme alongside your academic study at Northumbria.

Logo: i2i International Soccer AcademyThe Soccer Development Programme allows i2i student-athletes to develop their skills and experience by training in a professional environment for up to 5 days per week, led by a host of UEFA qualified coaches who boast both playing and coaching experiences within the English Premier League across multiple clubs including; Manchester City, Leeds United, Sunderland, Nottingham Forrest and Hull City.

Holding internationally recognised UEFA Pro and A coaching licences, the i2i Coaches work closely with each individual player to help maximise their soccer abilities and support them to pursue a range of career options, inside and outside of the sports industry.

Student-athletes are eligible for selection to represent i2i U19 and U23 teams in regional competition, whilst also representing both Northumbria University and i2i in the British Universities and Colleges Sport (BUCS) league and cup competitions (the UK NCAA equivalent). Alongside league fixtures, student athletes can play in showcase fixtures against professional and semi-professional teams over a 9-month season.

Did you know: we are the only UK-university in partnership with the i2i International Female Soccer Academy and they are the #1 girls collegiate soccer team in the country. They are the National League and Cup Champions and have also won Futsal BUCS gold a record 6 times. Last year they were crowned league and cup winners, breaking records becoming the first university to complete the Football and Futsal double double!
