Vashti joined the University in 1995 and has undertaken a range of
senior roles in Faculty and Student Support before taking responsibility for
the Student Life and Wellbeing team in 2024. Before working at the
University, Vashti worked for the Civil Service to support FE college strategic
planning and funding support for students with additional needs.
Vashti has significant experience of leading and developing centralised
student support teams to provide impactful, consistent services and support for
students, by putting students at the heart of everything we do. She has played
an active role in many University change projects to support the University to
deliver on its strategic ambitions, including student attendance and engagement
and learning analytics. Vashti has also developed partnership working across
external agencies in support of our students living in the local community.
Vashti has an undergraduate degree in History of Art from the University
of Leeds, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Management from Northumbria University.
