Julie Walters

Associate Professor

Department: Computer and Information Sciences

Julie -WaltersJulie Walters has worked as an academic for nearly 25 years since joining the University in 1994.

Julie has extensive leadership experience and has undertaken a number of management roles including Head of Student Recruitment and Programme Director.  She is currently the Associate Head of Department of Computer and Information Sciences.

Julie has a Masters degree in Business Information Technology and is a Senior Fellow the Higher Education Academy

She is an active member of the iSchool and her teaching is mainly focussed within the Information Sciences area with an interest in  employability and engagement

Julie’s research focusses on Social Media and particularly how Twitter can be used to capture useful information about hospital patient experience.
