Professor Eamon Scullion

Professor

Department: Mathematics, Physics and Electrical Engineering

E_ScullionBetween 2007 and 2010, I completed a Ph.D.  in Solar Physics with thesis titled, “Investigating Jets in the lower-to-mid Solar Atmosphere: Observations and Numerical Simulations”. Between 2011 and 2013, I was awarded a post-doctoral research Fellowship position within the Institute for theoretical Astrophysics at the University of Oslo, Norway. From 2013 to 2015, I was awarded a 2-year Irish Research Council Post-doctoral Fellowship to carry out research at Trinity College Dublin (Rep. of Ireland).

I specialize in observational solar physics, which involves image processing and data analysis on high resolution observations of the lower atmosphere of the Sun.
