Dr Goran Erfani

Research Fellow

Goran Erfani is a Research Fellow at the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University. He has contributed to developing and leading several studies focused on people-place-health dynamics, digital inclusion and digital health, and healthcare planning. His methodological expertise lies in mixed-method studies and quantitative research methodologies, including leading statistical analyses such as Regressions, CFA, SEM, Meta-analyses, and other advanced statistical techniques.

Before his current role, Goran worked as an associate lecturer and research fellow at the Northumbria Business School, where he contributed to a digital adoption project utilising a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design. Goran earned his PhD from the University of Newcastle in 2018 and later became as a Research Associate at the University of Sheffield. His doctoral research focused on people-place-health interrelations, providing a conceptual foundation for evaluating participatory urban redevelopment experiences.

Goran's previous professional experience includes working as a researcher with the Research, Analysis and Forecasting team at NBS (formerly known as RIBA Enterprises), where he focused on analysing Big Data related to the construction market in the UK.
