Dr Costanza Benassi

Assistant Professor

School: Engineering, Physics and Mathematics

I am an Assistant Professor at Northumbria University. My research area is Mathematical Physics, with a particular focus on Statistical Mechanics.

I earned a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Warwick in 2018. In my thesis I investigated various properties of classical and quantum lattice spin systems, and I worked under the supervision of Prof. D.Ueltschi. I then joined Northumbria University as Research Fellow within the research team of Dr. Antonio Moro. I took up my position as lecturer in June 2020.

Before my PhD, I earned a BSc in Physics and a 2-year MSc in Theoretical Physics at the University of Bologna, Italy.
