Teachers and Advisers Conference 2027

Join us on Friday 2 July 2027 for our annual Teachers and Advisers Conference – a dynamic day designed especially for heads of sixth form, careers leads and senior leaders in schools and colleges. The event will offer fresh insight into the higher education landscape and opportunities for your students at Northumbria.

Taking place from 9.00am to 3.30pm, we are delighted to host this event in our brand-new North East Space and Skills Technology (NESST) building, opening in 2027.

Why Should I Attend?

Whether you are guiding students through their UCAS choices, leading a sixth form, or shaping your school’s HE strategy, this conference is built with you in mind.

“The whole day was brilliant. Best uni event I’ve been to.” – 2026 Conference Delegate, Cardinal Hume Catholic School

“Loved the programme and venue. Breakout sessions were brilliant! Would love to have visited them all. NU staff so friendly and helpful.” – 2026 Conference Delegate, Kenton School

“An excellent use of time at this time of year” – 2026 Conference Delegate, Whitley Bay High School

Here’s what you can expect from the day:

Your Exclusive NESST Experience: Tour our new building and recently renovated Durant Hall. See where students study and try out the specialist equipment for yourself. This is the one day set aside for teachers and advisers to see it all.

Stay Ahead of the HE Landscape: Hear directly from UCAS on application trends and the changes that could shape the advice you give your students.

Step Inside Programmes that Matter: Choose from a range of interactive taster sessions, including Health, Law and Aerospace, and see what studying at Northumbria really looks like.

Make Connections that Matter: Network with fellow careers leads, heads of sixth form and senior leaders, alongside Northumbria staff who are here to support you and your students.

Relax and recharge: Enjoy a full lunch, refreshments throughout and a drinks reception to close the day.

Our full conference programme will be available in late Autumn 2026.
