This event is part of a suite of masterclasses aimed at Qualified Advanced Practitioners working across multiple specialities within the North East, North Cumbria & Yorkshire region and are kindly funded by NHS England North East & Yorkshire Advancing Practice Faculty.

  • Are you, or do you aspire to be, a workplace supervisor for trainee and qualified advanced practitioners?

  • Do you wish to expand your current knowledge base concerning the principles and requirements of multi-professional advanced practitioner workplace supervision?

Come and join us for an interactive day of seminar and workshop-based sessions that will foster a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment in which our delegates may share their expertise and experiences to promote continuing professional development (CPD) in the specialist field of multi-professional advanced practitioner workplace supervision.

Provisional topics to include:

  • An overview of clinical supervision models used for registered healthcare professionals
  • Principles and requirements of multi-professional advanced practitioner workplace supervision
  • Identifying the differing roles of a supervisory team in the advanced practitioner context
  • Identify your own learning needs as a workplace supervisor
  • Overview of the training and development available for workplace supervisors
  • Providing constructive and supportive feedback
  • Supporting trainee and qualified advanced practitioner experiencing challenges
  • The supervision cookbook: bring your own recipes to the table!

 

These masterclasses map to the following capabilities within the NHS England (2017) Multi-professional framework for Advanced Clinical Practice:

2.1 - Pro-actively initiate and develop effective relationships, fostering clarity of roles within teams, to encourage productive working

2.8 - Demonstrate team leadership, resilience and determination, managing situations that are unfamiliar, complex or unpredictable and seeking to build confidence in others.

3.4 - Advocate for and contribute to a culture of organisational learning to inspire future and existing staff.

3.8 - Act as a role model, educator, supervisor, coach and mentor, seeking to instill and develop the confidence of others.
