A Mental Health Act Reform two-day legal research Conference at Northumbria University

Including specialist streams from Multi-Professional Approved Clinicians (MPACs) and addressing the mental health of children in the secure estate

Speakers at the conference will critically explore the impact of proposed reforms to the Mental Health Act 1983, with particular focus on the potential impact on professional practice.

The presentations from Multi-Professional Approved Clinicians and Health Education England will be of particular relevance to those intending to seek approval to act as an Approved Clinician.

The stream on the mental health of children in the secure estate will consider, amongst other issues, the complex issue of self-harm within secure units, transitioning out of the secure estate, and the Framework for Integrated Care (SECURE STAIRS).
