Affordable Campus Food for Students at Northumbria University, Newcastle
The Northumbria Food Wallet is a convenient and affordable way for students to pay for meals across Northumbria Uni Food Outlets across campus in Newcastle upon Tyne.
The Northumbria Food Wallet provides pre-loaded credit that can be spent at selected Northumbria University catering outlets across campus when ordering through the Time2Eat mobile app.
When you purchase a package, you receive extra credit compared to the amount you pay, meaning you can enjoy food and drink across campus at a discounted price.
Students can save up to £210 per year depending on the package selected.
This scheme is designed to support students studying in Newcastle by providing:

Credit accumulates across the academic year and can be used throughout term time. Any remaining balance must be used before 31 July of the scheme year.
Where Can You Use the Northumbria Food Wallet?
The Northumbria Food Wallet can be used at a variety of campus cafés, restaurants, and food outlets located across:
- Northumbria University City Campus
- Northumbria University Coach Lane Campus
- Selected university accommodation collection points

How to Purchase the Northumbria Food Wallet
Buying a Northumbria Food Wallet package is quick and simple. Download our how-to guide or follow the steps below.
Step 1: Download the Time2Eat App
Download the Time2Eat app and register using your Northumbria University email address. Access code is simply: Northumbria
Step 2: Purchase Your Package
Select your preferred Northumbria Food Wallet package via the app.
Step 3: Wait for the credit to be uploaded
Once you’ve purchased your credit, simply email stephanie.fairless@compass-group.co.uk with proof of your package purchase and email address this is registered to.
Credit purchased before 1pm on Friday will typically be added to your account the following Monday.
Step 4: Start spending your credit
Once your credit is activated, it will appear in your in-app e-wallet, ready to spend at participating campus outlets.
Outlets include: Habita, Cafe Central, CCE Starbucks, Communitea & Foragers Pod

What does the Uni Food Saver catering package cover?
The Northumbria Food Wallet is designed to provide approximately £7 per weekday during term time, giving students access to affordable meals and snacks on campus through the Time2Eat app.
What is the Time2Eat app?
The App is our convenient way to order food across campus, and in some of our University-managed residences. You can choose to eat in one of our many catering outlets on campus, have food delivered to you at one of our collection points across campus and in our residences. To download the App, click here.
Can someone else buy a package for me?
Yes. Parents, guardians, or sponsors can purchase a Northumbria Food Wallet package on behalf of a student by providing relevant information (your name & Northumbria email address).
Can I upload credit myself?
You (or your parent/guardian) can upload credit directly to the Time2Eat App at any time and it will appear instantly. However, If you wish to access the savings of the Northumbria Uni Food Wallet, purchases should be made via within the app and all credit purchased by 1pm Friday will be uploaded and available for the following Monday.
Do I have to live in university accommodation?
No. The Northumbria Food Wallet is available to all students and staff at Northumbria University, regardless of where they live.
When can I use my package?
Your Uni Food Saver credit will accumulate over the course of the academic year and will be accessible during term time.
How do I check my balance?
Your balance is displayed in the e-wallet section of the Time2Eat app.
