Radhika Goyal

What situation best describes you?

I studied at a different university at undergraduate level, but went straight into studying my Masters at Northumbria.

How flexible was your Masters course whilst having other commitments?

I was a full-time student. It was flexible enough for me to have a well-balanced life.

What are the main differences you noticed from study at undergraduate level to postgraduate level?

I did my undergraduate degree in India. The teaching methodology was completely different in the UK. It took me some time to familiarise myself with the education system in the UK. But once I did, it became easier to navigate.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study a Masters?

I really like how the program was designed. The course was affordable as I was able to score a scholarship. Also, its location is just perfect!

Did you attend any of Northumbria’s Open Days or on-campus events, and how did this influence your decision to study with us?

I attended a seminar help by the University in India. It helped me understand about the University and the city.

What was it like studying a Masters at Northumbria?

There are a lot of practical experiences and team projects. Moreover, there are several other short term courses and seminars that help in a holistic development of the students. It was a great experience overall.

Did you take advantage of any financial incentives to help fund your Masters?

Yes, I got the University scholarship.

How connected was your course with industry?

It was very connected. We got several chances to interact with the alumni of this program and many scholars from the industry. They were a part of our program.

What was the best thing about your Masters course and what did you enjoy most about Northumbria University?

The best part was the practical experience. It gave me a chance to interact with my classmates, understand the concepts better and be confident about the modules' learning.

Which skills/knowledge did you gain on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

Theoretical and practical knowledge of the field, presenting my thoughts, grant writing, handling difficult situations in a practical setting.
