Mahmoud Mohammad Alsaraireh

Career Path: Assisstant Professor, Zarqa University
Location: Jordan

Currently, I am working as Assistant Professor in Nursing Studies at Zarqa University and am practising the skills I have learnt in UK. I finished my masters at Northumbria and then went on to complete a PhD at Nottingham University. I am also a member of the Pain Society in Jordan, as well as an active member of different social events in my country such as scientific days through which I provide people with advice that relates to their health conditions.

What are you doing now?

I am an Assistant Professor at Zarqa University in Jordan.

What was it about Northumbria that made you decide to study here?

The UK was a favourable place for me to study and Northumbria was the first university that helped me to learn in a new environment and taught me well. Studying at the University has really been a very marvellous experience.

What was it like studying at Northumbria?

It was a mix of lectures in addition to seminars and group work. But mainly it was lecture based learning.

What was the best thing about your course?

All of it, it was beautiful! It was also interesting being in Newcastle as we got to see some beautiful places such as local castles and the Angel of the North.

How did studying at Northumbria help you achieve your career goals/ give your career an edge?

It was the first step that helped me to complete my PhD, without my studies at Northumbria I could not have done this. 

Which skills/knowledge did you learn on your course that you use most now throughout your career?

A range of different experiences such as group learning, how to do research and how to use databases and online learning.

What did you enjoy most about your time at Northumbria University?

The University was very beautiful and my teaching was well organised, the Lecturers were very helpful.

What advice would you give somebody who is considering studying at Northumbria?

My advice is to study at Northumbria.

How would you describe your time at Northumbria in three words?

Very interesting, full of amazing experiences and excitement.
