NBS Research

Housed in the award-winning City Campus East, Newcastle Business School wants to be regarded as ‘a force for good’, disseminating its research internationally, nationally and regionally. Our research focuses on the ways in which organisations and places are shaped by globalised processes requiring international comparative research to understand change at both micro and macro levels.

Committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals advocating positive business ethics and corporate behaviour, the core themes of our research revolve around the questions: How can we embed responsibility in business practice; how can innovation and entrepreneurship reshape regional economies; and how can the public sector embrace new ways of working? The School also plays a significant role in a city-region challenged by the legacy of de-industrialisation but that is also characterised by export-led business, ethical companies, innovative entrepreneurs and a commitment to responsive public services.

See REF 2021 to find out more about our research.

The NBS 2020 strategic research vision is organised into three formal and distinctive Research Signature Areas areas supported by a set of dynamically inclusive and academic led Research Interest Groups. You can learn more by clicking on the links below:
