Why did you choose Northumbria University, Newcastle?

I chose to stay close to my roots in Newcastle, and I know it's a great city! During the application process, I found Northumbria University answered all my questions.

What do you think of Newcastle and our region and what are your favourite things to do?

I love to explore and take photos. Newcastle is always busy, and there is always something to do or see. Visit the Baltic and Laing Art Gallery, to the Hancock Museum.

What has surprised you most about living in Newcastle and this region? What has impressed you most?

Newcastle is full of friendly people, which is very important for people moving to this city.

Did you find Northumbria University welcoming? Was it easy to fit in?

As I am a student living in my own home, rather than student accommodation, I found I had gained a different element to university life. Northumbria has been very welcoming. Students' Union is always available for support, as well as your student/course rep.

What have you enjoyed most about coming to Northumbria University?

Meeting so many different people!

Who has helped you most since you came to Northumbria?

My peers on the course have been a great  support, as well as advice from tutors.

Who has inspired you most at Northumbria University?

Again, my fellow peers. It's important to gain that relationship, to support and guide each other!

What is your favourite place on campus?

The Lipman Cafe is a great place to relax with a coffee and bite to eat, grab lunch, or hop on the computers.

What is the best thing about your course?

The wealth of opportunities that I have never tried before!

What are the most valuable lessons you have learnt to date?

An important element to my course, is self dependent, you have to keep the momentum and motivation at a high. But working with people who want to strive as well, makes it great.

What do you want to do in the future? What skills have you learned/improved that you think will be of most use in your future career?

I have learned to engage with tutors and visiting lecturers on a professional level.

If you could offer some advice to students thinking of coming to study here what would you say?

Pop over for a welcoming Open Day, and ask as many questions as you need (even if you think they are silly, no doubt someone else will be thinking the same!).

How do you feel you have changed as a person since being at Northumbria University, Newcastle (e.g. confidence)?

I have definitely developed more into a mature person, gained confidence in my personality as well as my practice.

If you had 3 words to sum up your time with us what would they be?

Fantastic, eventful and inspiring!

Would you recommend Northumbria University to a friend?

Yes!
