History Taking and Clinical Skills for Primary Care - Level 6 - AC6712
**This module no longer runs as a single module but can be undertaken as part of the Health and Social Practice programme. Find out more information on the Health and Social Practice programmes here.

The module introduces the process of history taking and assessing the physical manifestations of acute and chronic health issues. You will be able to evaluate clinical findings and assess the severity of symptom complexes relating to core primary care presentations across a range of body systems. Please note this module will not cover specific paediatric assessments.
The module is intensive in nature and requires student commitment and time allocation for the practice of skills within your workplace in preparation for your objective skills clinical examination.

The module is intensive in nature and requires student commitment. This module is focussed on history taking required for professionals in Primary Care.
Previous evidence of level 5 study.
1.Conduct a concise, thorough history and advanced assessment of the presenting health issue in the body systems;
2.Critically analyse the assessment findings undertaken
3.Evaluate the necessity for clinical investigations in support of the assessment process.
4.Define rationales for clinical decisions, proposed management, and demonstrate the ability to analyse and apply results
5.Communicate effectively their findings to both patient and/or carer and to other Health Care Professionals
